Feel extra safe for my bike

While this may be a bit expensive compared to the initial cost of the Aerocomfort case, it does provide excellent protection. In fact, I had been using a competitor's case which doesn't offer similar extra options and was initially just going to buy this kit for use with their case. I wound up deciding to also buy Scicon's case.

Your bike/needs may vary, but for me the #1 feature that drew me to this is the derailleur bag and it's perfect. I strongly prefer/recommend unbolting the DR when packing and flying because unless you're using a hard shell case, airlines will find a way to bang on the DR, bend the hanger, and you'll arrive with shifting problems. Removing it still leaves it hanging, and this provides a safe and secure method of strapping the loose DR inside the frame.

For me, the #2 benefit is the handlebar padding, though less important because in my experience this has not been an issue and while there's potentially expensive damage if someone hits a shift lever, that's hard to do and the bars themselves are durable. The padding does greatly improve the protection of the less durable stuff like the shifters.

The third piece in the kit is rear triangle padding. The wrap fits and would be fine, but personally my road frame is well enough protected by the rest of the kit and case that I do not need this. So for me even at the discounted price as a bundle, I'm basically only using 2 of the 3 items and that raises the "effective" price for me. In hindsight, I would have been better off purchasing the DR and handlebar options individually, but the bundled price for all 3 made the most sense at the time, before I'd actually used the full case and understood how well it protected my bike and where extra padding would be most effective.

Overall, though, the quality and design of each of the pads is fantastic. I especially like that they're clearly labeled, have visual diagram showing their use/placement, so really supports quick and easy packing process.

The protective elements for bike transport appear to be of very high quality, with excellent materials and precise craftsmanship. They fit securely and give the impression of being durable and reliable. However, I haven’t had the chance to test them yet during actual transport, so their performance on the road remains to be seen.
